Frame Restoration and Gilding

Our restorers and framers attentively address the needs of frames damaged by fire, smoke, water, age and handling. Frames may require cleaning, odor treatment, toning, refinishing, re-joining, structural repair, restoration of gilded surfaces or other treatment depending on frame type and condition. When it is not possible to restore a frame to its pre-loss condition or a damaged frame holds no intrinsic value, we may recommend seeking replacement through our custom picture frame department. Our framers work directly with our restoration department to ensure that art is handled safely and is properly framed to our restorer’s specifications.

We offer full-service custom framing and carry museum-quality materials including 100% rag mat boards, conservation glazing, archival mounts, and acid free mats, backing boards and backing papers.
